President, Katherine Jorquera and Vice President Donovan Lee met at the gym and that is where their love of each other, the gym, and animals began. They began rescuing cats out of their dining room window in 2017. They began with 1 cat that they fed and rescued and it quickly turned into the operation that it is today. Kittens and Barbells Rescue represents the will and grit both animal rescue and the gym require. They have fostered and rescued over 300 cats and have TNR’d (TRAP-NEUTER-RETURN) from dozens of colonies in the Tri-state area. They have 6 cats and foster all of the animals they rescue out of their 3 bedroom apartment in NYC.
